Here’s what it includes:
• The completed application form.
• A letter of nomination (no longer than 500 words) from the nominator.
• A list from the nominee of his or her Top 10 school/community activities.
• A statement from the nominee describing one accomplishment he or she is most proud of. This should be no longer than 500 words and should provide some insight into the
student from his or her own perspective. Examples might be a musical or athletic achievement, volunteerism or school or community leadership efforts.
All nominations are due by noon Wednesday, April 1.
Heart-felt nominations are best. Craft a letter of nomination that’s a personal reflection of the student. Remember, candidates are individuals. Letters of nomination should be, too. And please, this isn’t a popularity contest. We accept only one nomination per student, and that will be the first one received; duplicates will be discounted. In cases where several people might want to nominate the same student, pool your thoughts into one, strong letter of nomination.
The 25 All-Stars will be selected by a panel of four community leaders and will be featured in a special section in May. In addition, the group will be honored at a breakfast on Thursday, May 21, at Hart’s Hill Inn in Whitesboro.
Nominations can come from many sources — teachers, school administrators, parents, pastors, neighbors, coaches or anyone else who feels they have a worthy candidate.
